Prowlarr & indexers

Indexer health, caps, and sync for prowlarr.saxobroko.com feeding Sonarr, Radarr, and Lidarr. Includes Aither private tracker. See arr-stack.md.

PRW-001: Prowlarr shows indexer unhealthy?

1. Indexers tab → check error message.
2. Test indexer — fix credentials from Vaultwarden.
3. Aither may need cookie or API refresh.
4. Rate limit clears after wait — retry in 15 minutes.

PRW-002: All indexers red — nothing downloads?

1. Fix Prowlarr first before Sonarr/Radarr.
2. Check internet and DNS on NAS.
3. VPN not configured on qBittorrent yet — unrelated but verify NAS online.
4. Restart Prowlarr app on TrueNAS.

PRW-003: Aither login failed in Prowlarr?

1. Credentials in Vaultwarden — re-enter.
2. Aither session cookie expires — update in indexer config.
3. Check Aither site reachable from NAS.

PRW-004: Indexer works in Prowlarr but not Sonarr?

1. Apps → Sonarr → Sync App.
2. Verify indexer enabled for Sonarr in Prowlarr.
3. Test connection in Sonarr Settings → Indexers.
4. API key must match Prowlarr application entry.

PRW-005: Caps show zero TV results?

1. Indexer category caps may block TV.
2. Edit indexer → Categories include TV/5000 etc.
3. Private trackers list caps per user class.
4. Manual test search TV keyword in Prowlarr.

PRW-006: Caps show zero movie results?

1. Enable Movie categories on indexer.
2. Some indexers separate TV vs Movies.
3. Re-sync apps after category change.
4. Test movie search in Prowlarr.

PRW-007: Too many requests / rate limited?

1. Reduce RSS frequency in Sonarr/Radarr.
2. Fewer indexers with same results.
3. Wait cooldown period.
4. Do not hammer manual search repeatedly.

PRW-008: Sync apps button — what does it do?

1. Pushes indexer list to Sonarr/Radarr/Lidarr.
2. Run after adding or fixing indexer.
3. Overwrites indexer config in *arr from Prowlarr.
4. Required after new Aither setup.

PRW-009: Added indexer manually in Sonarr by mistake?

1. Remove duplicate in Sonarr.
2. Use Prowlarr as single source — add only there.
3. Sync apps to restore clean state.
4. Duplicate indexers cause double grabs.

PRW-010: Prowlarr search works but grab fails?

1. Grab goes to download client in *arr not Prowlarr.
2. Check Sonarr/Radarr download client.
3. Release may be dead — 0 seeds.
4. Try another indexer result.

PRW-011: Indexer SSL certificate error?

1. NAS clock must be correct.
2. Indexer URL must be HTTPS if required.
3. Some private trackers need specific URL.
4. Update CA certs via TrueNAS update.

PRW-012: FlareSolverr or Cloudflare challenge indexer?

1. Not all indexers supported without helper.
2. Check Prowlarr docs for indexer type.
3. May need FlareSolverr container — advanced.
4. Prefer indexers that work without challenge.

PRW-013: Music indexer for Lidarr empty?

1. Enable Music categories in Prowlarr.
2. Sync Lidarr app.
3. Not all trackers carry music — Aither may.
4. Test artist search in Prowlarr.

PRW-014: Indexer priority order?

1. Prowlarr indexer priority flows to *arr.
2. Lower number = higher priority.
3. Adjust if slow indexer always tried first.
4. Save and sync apps.

PRW-015: Torznab vs Newznab?

1. Both supported — URL and API key differ.
2. This stack uses torrent indexers primarily.
3. Usenet not primary — verify if configured.
4. Test with Prowlarr built-in test.

PRW-016: Full sync vs add and sync?

1. Add and sync when new indexer only.
2. Full sync resets all — use carefully.
3. After bulk edit, sync affected apps.
4. Sonarr/Radarr show indexers from Prowlarr after sync.

PRW-017: Prowlarr history empty but Sonarr searched?

1. Search may happen inside Sonarr using Prowlarr proxy.
2. Check Sonarr logs for indexer calls.
3. Prowlarr search tab tests directly.
4. Both should log if working.

PRW-018: Cannot reach prowlarr.saxobroko.com?

1. Australia geo block outside AU.
2. Tunnel down — restart cloudflared.
3. LAN: TrueNAS Apps port on 203.
4. Admin UI — credentials Vaultwarden.

PRW-019: Indexer seeders count wrong?

1. Caps API reports approximate peers.
2. Real seeds seen in qBittorrent after grab.
3. Stale torrents show seeds but fail — blocklist.
4. Trust grab test not preview count.

PRW-020: Duplicate releases in search results?

1. Same release via multiple indexers normal.
2. Sonarr picks one per search.
3. Dedupe by infohash in qBittorrent.
4. Reduce overlapping indexers if noisy.

PRW-021: Indexer requires VPN?

1. qBittorrent VPN not configured yet.
2. Indexer API may still work without VPN.
3. Tracker announce separate from indexer search.
4. Document VPN when added.

PRW-022: Prowlarr update broke indexers?

1. Re-test each indexer after app update.
2. Re-sync apps.
3. Check release notes for breaking changes.
4. Snapshot before update.

PRW-023: Aither ratio affecting indexer?

1. Ratio is tracker side not Prowlarr search.
2. Low ratio may hit download ban on tracker.
3. Seeding after import — qBittorrent FAQ.
4. Search still works if account in good standing.

PRW-024: Indexer categories 2000 vs 5000?

1. 2000 movies 5000 TV standard Torznab.
2. Wrong category = empty results.
3. Per-indexer category list in Prowlarr.
4. Consult indexer documentation.

PRW-025: Manual search in Prowlarr vs Sonarr?

1. Prowlarr tests indexer health.
2. Sonarr manual search uses Prowlarr indexers.
3. Fix Prowlarr if both empty.
4. Sonarr adds quality and profile filters.

PRW-026: Indexer timeout settings?

1. Increase timeout for slow private trackers.
2. Settings → Indexers → advanced.
3. Too low = false failures.
4. Balance with UI responsiveness.

PRW-027: Remove dead indexer?

1. Delete in Prowlarr then sync apps.
2. Removes from Sonarr/Radarr too.
3. Clean up orphaned config.
4. Replace with working source.

PRW-028: Prowlarr API key rotated?

1. Update API key in each *arr Prowlarr entry.
2. Settings → General in Prowlarr.
3. Test connection after rotate.
4. Store in Vaultwarden.

PRW-029: Lidarr not getting Prowlarr indexers?

1. Add Lidarr under Apps in Prowlarr.
2. Sync specifically to Lidarr.
3. Music categories enabled.
4. Test Lidarr Settings → Indexers.

PRW-030: Indexer returns HTML not JSON?

1. Wrong URL — copy Torznab URL not website.
2. Login page means bad API path.
3. Fix base URL from tracker wiki.
4. Re-test in Prowlarr.

PRW-031: Season pack search no results?

1. Try episode search or different keywords.
2. Caps may not support pack query.
3. Aither may name differently.
4. Sonarr automatic search on season monitor.

PRW-032: 4K category not searched?

1. Enable UHD/4K categories if indexer splits.
2. Quality profile in Radarr must allow 4K.
3. Custom formats may block.
4. Not all indexers tag 4K separately.

PRW-033: Indexer auth IP ban?

1. Too many failed logins — wait or contact tracker.
2. Verify credentials once not loop.
3. Access from home IP consistent with account.
4. Check tracker user class.

PRW-034: Prowlarr logs where?

1. TrueNAS → Apps → Prowlarr → Logs.
2. Or app shell — technical.
3. Enable debug briefly for stubborn indexer.
4. Disable debug after — log spam.

PRW-035: Multiple Prowlarr instances mistake?

1. Only one Prowlarr on this NAS.
2. Do not duplicate on PC.
3. Single manager feeds all *arr.
4. Sync from one place.

PRW-036: Indexer freeleech only filter?

1. Configure in Sonarr/Radarr release profiles if needed.
2. Prowlarr passes all unless filtered downstream.
3. Aither freeleech events tracker-side.
4. Grab like normal during freeleech.

PRW-037: RSS feed from Prowlarr?

1. *arr apps poll indexers via Prowlarr.
2. RSS interval in Sonarr/Radarr settings.
3. Too frequent hits caps.
4. Default intervals usually fine.

PRW-038: New indexer checklist?

1. Add in Prowlarr → test → set categories → Sync App to Sonarr/Radarr/Lidarr.
2. Verify search in each *arr.
3. Do not add separately in *arr.
4. Document credentials in Vaultwarden only.
