Find bank details in Vaultwarden
When a form asks for BSB, account number, payee name, or reference, those details live in Vaultwarden — not in SaxDocs markdown.
This guide teaches you how to find them step by step.
Before you start
- You must be able to Open Vaultwarden (master password + YubiKey if required).
- Have the name of the bank or bill you need — e.g. MyState, Vanguard, Macquarie, Greenfleet.
What you might be looking for
| Detail | Used for |
|---|---|
| BSB | Australian bank transfers |
| Account number | Transfers, direct debit setup |
| Account name | Transfer forms |
| PayID | Some fast payments |
| Policy number | Insurance |
| Member number | Vanguard |
| Card last 4 digits | Identifying which card pays a bill (full card never in SaxDocs) |
Step-by-step — search the vault
1. Unlock Vaultwarden
- Go to vault.saxobroko.com.
- Log in — see Open Vaultwarden.
2. Search by name
- Click the Search box at the top.
- Type the institution name, for example:
MyStateVanguardMacquarieGreenfleetmobileor carrier name from vault- Click the matching login item.
3. Read the entry fields
Typical Bitwarden fields:
| Field | What to look for |
|---|---|
| Username | Often customer ID or email for banking |
| Password | Hidden until you reveal — copy, do not screenshot to cloud |
| URI | Official website link |
| Notes | BSB, account numbers, policy numbers often pasted here |
| Custom fields | Some entries label BSB, Account, Policy explicitly |
- Scroll through Notes slowly — numbers are easy to miss.
- Use copy icons next to each field when pasting into bank forms.
4. Secure attachments (if any)
- Some entries have Attachments — PDF scans of letters, settlement docs, insurance certificates.
- Click attachment → download to a private folder on your device.
- Do not attach bank PDFs to public email.
5. Lock vault when done
- Lock or log out of Vaultwarden on shared computers.
Where Saxon likely filed things
| Topic | Search terms |
|---|---|
| Home loan + offset | MyState, mortgage, offset |
| Investments | Vanguard |
| Day-to-day bank | Macquarie |
| Bills | mobile, insurance, Amazon, Greenfleet |
| Tax / property | settlement, Sunbury, ATO (if saved) |
One folder vs many entries
Saxon may use one MyState login with BSB/account in Notes, or separate Bank account items with no password — search both the name and word BSB.
Copying details safely
| Do | Don't |
|---|---|
| Paste BSB/account directly into official bank site | Paste into random web forms from email links |
| Verify payee name character-for-character | Read account numbers aloud in public |
| Update Vaultwarden if bank reissues accounts | Put new numbers in SaxDocs markdown |
If details are missing from Vaultwarden
- Log into the bank app — many show BSB/account under Account details.
- Check paper mail or email statements in Saxon's inbox.
- Call bank support with identity verification — not SaxDocs.
- Ask Ryan if a backup export exists offline (never post exports publicly).
Troubleshooting
| Problem | What to try |
|---|---|
| No search results | Try shorter words; browse All items alphabetically |
| Login item but empty notes | Open banking app → account details; add to Vaultwarden for next time |
| Old Macquarie vs MyState | Two separate entries — offset is MyState only |
| Can't open vault at all | Login troubleshooting |
