Request a movie or show

Overseerr lets you ask for new movies or TV series to be added to Jellyfin. You search, click request, and automation handles the rest in the background.

You do not download files yourself — Overseerr sends the request to the server.

Before you start

  • Login via Authentik (from Vaultwarden) — same as Homepage
  • New content takes time — often several hours to a day, not minutes
  • Not everything can be found — very obscure titles may fail silently

Step 1 — Open Overseerr

  1. Open a browser.
  2. Go to request.saxobroko.com.
  3. Sign in with Authentik if asked.

Shortcut: open dash.saxobroko.com and click the Overseerr tile.

  1. Find the Search bar at the top.
  2. Type the movie or TV show name.
  3. Pick the correct result from the list (check year and poster so it is not a similarly named title).

Step 3 — Request a movie

  1. Click the movie you want.
  2. Click Request (or Request Movie).
  3. If asked for quality (1080p, 4K, etc.), choose the default unless you know preferences — 1080p is fine for most TVs.
  4. Confirm the request.

You should see a message that the request was submitted or pending.

Step 4 — Request a TV series

  1. Click the TV show.
  2. Click Request.
  3. Choose:
  4. All seasons, or
  5. Specific seasons (e.g. Season 1 only)
  6. Confirm.

TV takes longer than a single movie — many episodes to download.

Step 5 — Wait and watch in Jellyfin

  1. Check request status in Overseerr (Requests section) — states like Pending, Processing, Available.
  2. When ready, open stream.saxobroko.com — Jellyfin for beginners.
  3. Search for the same title in Jellyfin.

If it appears in Overseerr as available but not in Jellyfin, wait 30 minutes for a library scan, or see When media won't play.
